As the school season has started, avid learners are bound to be seen in every part of the world. This held true of all the developers who attended the Unity 3D Code Camp led by Developers Connect Philippines (DevCon PH) which was done last June 17, 2017 and was hosted by Zendesk Philippines at their office in Net Park Building, Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. The event was part of the many various workshops by DevCon PH and followed the month of June’s theme of ‘Game Development’.

DevCon PH is a non-profit organization that strives to bring together like minded individuals that are in the pursuit of improving the stand of the Filipino developer in the global IT industry. The event started with the introduction of DevCon PH to the participants by the event team leader, Mr. Gabriel Paet.

After the introduction, Mr. JM Ramos, an associate software engineer at Zendesk, briefly introduced Zendesk to the audience.

The workshop was taught by Mr. Carl So, a Unity developer and instructor. Participants are taught to create and handle 3D objects and, at times, he is personally helping the participants understand the complexities of Unity.

In the afternoon, the Mr. So continued with the workshop and had a bit of Q&A with the participants. They fervently asked questions in order to understand Unity as much as they can at the time. There was also a short hackathon where the participants had to create the best program that they can using all that they have learned in a short amount of time. Prizes were given out to the winners as well as to some of the participants who were active in spreading word about the event through their various social media.

Near the end of the workshop, Ms. Joie Sales promoted the International Game Developers Association community. At the end of the workshop, everyone came together to take a group picture to commemorate the success of the event.
