Who We Are

DEVCON is the Philippines’ largest community of developers and future geeks. Our mission is to promote collaborative growth and global competence of Filipino developers in the academe and IT industry by providing a unique venue for everyone to Sync, Support and Succeed.

We are known for hosting unconferences for IT students, professionals and educators since 2009 with six (6) local chapters across the country.

We’ve organized hackathons and innovation challenges in partnership with different organizations, enterprises and government agencies;

Since 2013, we’ve been hosting the biggest developer conference in the country – DEVCON Summit, a tech summit with highly curated sessions, featuring some of the known speakers and companies in areas from software development and data science to AI, the future of work, and more.

Our Legacy Workshops and Events

“We would like to thank the DEVCON volunteers for coming up with this innovative solution which has eased the burden for our personnel in quarantine checkpoints and we would like to thank our partners, DICT, PNP, and DOST-NCR for working together in deploying RapidPass, and we thank our partners from the private sector, Microsoft, PLDT and SM, for donating phones to be used by PNP personnel at QCPs and bandwidth for the operation of RapidPass. We have demonstrated how the government and the private talents can work together. There was no talk about money at all. Everything was out of desire to help our country during this difficult situation. There’s really no end to the areas where we can make improvements through technology. I hope Winston and his group will not run out of energy and the people will continue being supportive. I also wish that there will be success in this new normal environment where the services of people like them who are skilled in ICT, software, and Artificial Intelligence are very much needed. Thank you very much for the assistance that you have extended to us. “

Sec. Fortunato “Boy” Dela Peña, Department of Science and Technology

“We knew that we were talking to the right people and we were confident in the ability of this group to help us overcome these [pandemic] challenges. I’m just really grateful to all of the volunteers who came together for the love of country in this most important, historic moment wherein the country needed you most, you did not hesitate to answer the call like real Filipinos. At the end of the day when we get old, you’ll be proud to say that at this darkest hour of our history, you all stepped up. Maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat.”

Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles

Co-chair of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID)

“Being part of DevCon Summit 2017 as a volunteer was a great experience. I was able to engage with different people with different personalities. Getting to know them and to share my knowledge and skills with them to make last year’s summit successful were priceless. It was an exciting and meaningful experience, and I’m lucky to be part of.”

Edward Alonzo, Former DEVCON OIC, Creatives

“Nag volunteer ako sa DCTX dahil gusto kung makatulong sa bayan, sa gitna ng pandemyang ito, sa pamamagitan ng pagbabahagi ng aking kaalaman at abilidad bilang isang multi media artist.”

James Evangelista, Multimedia Artist, DCTX Volunteer

“Partaking on DEVCON as a speaker was a really big leap for us young developers paving the way for an emerging technology, Chatbots. DEVCON, being one of the biggest communities for developers, helped us grow our channels and at the same time, challenge us to share more exciting variations of AI and Chatbots. It was an exciting experience to share what Chatbots can really do and at the same time challenge ourselves to learn from the like-minded innovators on how their solutions can advance our way of creation custom bots.”
